A week in learning - We learn about Class 4M this week.

It has been a fantastic start to the new term. 4M spent some of their time practising their assembly, which was a huge success and the children really enjoyed sharing their work with the whole school and their parents. They were able to showcase their class song and their developing confidence. Mr Britt praised the work the children shared and the quality of their presentation skills, in his address at the end of the assembly. The children received huge support from the large number of parents in attendance.

In Guided Reading this week pupils have been looking at the book ‘The Secrets of Vesuvius’ whilst examining the language features required to write a good narrative in English. Their extended piece of work was to create a piece of dialogue detailing their reaction to a Tsunami, appearing on a beach where they were playing.

Behaviour and expectations regarding attitudes to learning remain high in Year 4 and the children help Ms Morrison and Ms Wegrzynek sustain a tidy, inspiring and colourful classroom.

The children were keen that the pictures shared here showed their writing skills and also the new marking systems which reflect their successes and the required next steps or challenges.
