Hedgehog Nursery participated in a super Early Years Sports Day. The weather was perfect, the children raced brilliantly and they all received a medal. Also, we would like to say a big thank you to the PTA who supplied an ice lolly for all the children


Early years and Year 1 enjoyed the visit from Mill Farm. They were able to stroke the donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, guinea-pigs, rabbits, ducks, chicks and hens


The Hedgehog Nursery Class are enjoying learning about dinosaurs. We have painted pictures, read stories, sorted them into size order and learnt a dinosaur song!


Bumblebees have enjoyed retelling the story ‘The Bad-Tempered Ladybird’. They all agreed that she was being very unkind!

    Nursery - Curriculum Overview 2018/19                                                                                                            

    This half term we will be learning about:

    Communication and language skills:

    We will be talking to the teachers and other children in the class. We will be finding our own name to self-register, we will be using our words to talk about our own needs and wants.


    Personal, Social and Emotional Behaviour:

    We will be learning the new nursery routines, familiarising ourselves with the areas in the nursery, learning some of the names of the other children, learning how to use our toys appropriately.


    Physical Development:

    We will be developing our spatial awareness and co-ordination awareness both inside and outside the nursery.  We will be learning about hygiene and safety.



    We will be listening to stories and talking about the main event and characters.  We will be learning to recognise our name.



    We will be singing number songs, counting objects, talking about days of the week and playing with number puzzles.


    Understanding of the World:

    We will be talking about our friends and family, celebrating birthdays and developing ICT skills with the IPads and computer. We will be exploring the outside area and finding out about the season - autumn.


    Expressive Arts and Design:

    We will be using paint, glue, collage and junk modelling material.  We will be using a variety of construction toys, acting in role at the role-play home corner, learning new songs and rhymes.  Experimenting with sound and instruments.
