Home Learning
Home learning is important to us, and it helps to support your child and consolidate skills learnt at school. Our home learning focus is on the core skills of reading, times tables and spellings as weekly tasks. We will also have optional home learning tasks each month linked to our Community Champions themes.
Our home learning expectations are:
Reading: To read every day to an adult and to record this (one entry per day) on your reading bookmarks. Reading books and bookmarks be brought into the academy every day.
Times Table Rock Stars and NumBots: To practise their times tables and calculation skills once a week at home. Your child’s class teacher will be monitoring their progress regularly.

Spellings: To practise set spellings sent home weekly. Spelling checks will take place on a Friday.
Community Champion Projects: To carry out a Community Champion project(s) based on the month’s theme. These projects also include activities your child can complete all year round to support them to become a good citizen. These will be sent home via email monthly and can be recorded in a variety of ways. You can find our Community Champion projects here. Please note that Community Champions projects are optional.
Please find below guides for parents to support with spelling, reading and maths at home.
